The AWAA is a non-political, non-profit group organized to support American women in developing friendships and to help expatriates assimilate into the community by providing opportunities for social, cultural, and philanthropic endeavors, thus fostering a positive experience living in Angola and resulting in a positive reflection of American women.
We invite you to browse our website and contact us if you would like more information.
While living in a foreign country can be quite exciting, it brings unique challenges. The network within AWAA allows us to experience a little of that “comfort zone” we might miss back home, while we learn how to best experience the culture here in Angola. Your membership dollars go toward funding our program, providing immediate notifications from the embassy, pre-sale of event tickets, and entrance to some private events.
AWAA is a member of FAWCO (Federation of American Women’s Clubs Overseas, Inc.). FAWCO is a network of independent American and international volunteer organizations representing private-sector American citizens overseas. It serves as a resource and channel of information for its member clubs, contributes actively to the global community and represents the interests of all Americans abroad.
